I have been using the dual n-back game for a while now on and off and I wanted to try and do something more regularly so that people can see the great effects of this simple program.
An n-back task is simple. You are given a letter a stimuli, then you are asked to notice if the step n back matches up with the current step. For instance, if I was playing two back then the third step of a d a would be a match. You can check out the wikipedia page if you don't get it.
While you're there, look at the article on Dual n-back tests, which are just two n-back tests at once, too. The article mentions how they've been considered great tools for increasing fluid intelligence, which is used for things like solving puzzles and everything up to the end of this sentence.
I will be doing once weekly updates regarding my progress and will be using three examples as guides on my progress. These are
1. I will note any noticeable mental differences in me.
2. I will perform an IQ test, using the test at www.intelligencetest.com as a basis.
3. Notes on other mental upgrades I will be trying. (immersion swimming, musical training, visual imagery and the like)
